As of January 1st , 2022, the Delmar Township Municipal Authority officially took over all operations of the Stony Fork, Smithville and Stokesdale sewer systems. Due to the tighter regulations from DEP, along with the rising costs of monitoring and equipment to operate, the municipal authority’s intent is to ensure that the operating costs and costs of future improvements will not be incurred by the entire township.
One of the advantages in operating as an authority is the ability to apply for grant funds for the large improvement and upgrade projects. However there is still the ongoing monitoring, maintenance and repair fees to factor into the operations.

DO NOT FLUSH REMINDER
If service is needed due to owner negligence in the guidelines below, repairs will be billed at an hourly rate as well as the cost of any parts required.
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY
EVERY YEAR, EVERY PERSON ON THE SEWER, RECEIVES A REMINDER OF WHAT NOT TO PUT INTO THE SEWER SYSTEM. LANDLORDS ARE RESPONSIBLE TO MAKE SURE THEIR TENANTS ARE AWARE OF THIS.
SINCE THE YEARLY REMINDER OF WHAT IS AND ISN’T ALLOWED INTO THE SYSTEM IS BEING IGNORED AND THERE ARE REPEATED OFFENSES OF WIPES AND OTHE ITEMS BEING INTRODUCED INTO THE GRINDER PUMPS AND SEWER SYSTEMS, ANY SEWER CALL THAT IS FOUND TO BE THE FAULT OF THE OCCUPANTS, THE OWNER(S) WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE SERVICE CALL, LABOR, COSTS FOR ALL PARTS, MACHINERY, ETC.
THE ONLY “ITEMS” TO BE INTRODUCED INTO THE SEWER SYSTEM IS URINE, FECEL MATTER AND TOILET PAPER. IF ANYTHING, OTHER THEN THOSE THREE ITEMS ARE FOUND YOU WILL BE IN VIOLATION OF WHAT IS ACCEPTABLE AND YOU WILL BE CHARGED ACCORDINGLY.
RESOLUTION No. 2024-1 (attached Below)
The purpose of this resolution is to implement a rate change beginning January 1st, 2025. At that time the rate for all sewer operations of the Stony Fork, Smithville and Stokesdale systems will be $65.00 per month.
For many years we have maintained the lowest cost to the customers in comparison to the average rate in Pennsylvania, and even with the increase we are still coming in under the average.
However due to the tighter regulations from DEP, along with the rising costs of monitoring and equipment to operate, the municipal authority’s intent is to ensure that the operating costs and costs of future improvements will not be incurred by the entire township. We are making every effort to minimize the expenses that we control, while covering the rising cost that come from the mandated regulations that we have to follow to insure that those residents who depend on a public sewer system will be able to do so long into the future.
